The construction of the road to the hill of Profitis Ilias in the Voroklini Community of Larnaca province cost more than one million euros.
A written announcement of the Voroklini Community Council states that “the construction of the road to the Profitis Elias hill was completed, with the asphalting of the last 350 meters. “The road was dirt and dangerous for wheeled vehicles and pedestrians, especially due to erosion and landslides.”
It is added that “along the entire length of the road, a retaining wall of 1-2 meters was constructed. “Sidewalks were also built on both sides of the road, rainwater transport pipelines, lighting was installed along its entire length, with autonomous photovoltaic systems, benches, garbage cans and signs, while 520 trees were planted, which are irrigated.”
It is noted that “the construction of the road cost more than one million euros with a government contribution of 70% and 30% from the Community Council”.
