Significant gains were recorded on Tuesday by the Cyprus Stock Exchange with the market now a “breath” before 130 units and at the highest level of the last six weeks. The General Index of the CSE registered a significant increase of 1.49%, closing at 129.74 units, with the shares of the companies Demitra Investments and Cyprus Cement Company registering a large increase of 7.2% and 5.56%, respectively.< /p>

The FTSE/CySE 20 Index closed at 78.77 points, recording gains of 1.56%. The value of the transactions amounted to €433,417.

Of the individual stock indices, the Main Market registered an increase of 2.01%, the Alternative Market closed with gains of 0.99%, the Investment Companies sector saw a large increase of 6.74% and Hotels strengthened by 0.38%.

Bank of Cyprus securities attracted the most investment interest with €263,339 (no change – closing price €2.98). Followed by the shares of Hellenic Bank with €48,832 (up 1.36% – closing price €2.23), of Cyprus Cement Company with €42,246 (up 5.56% – closing price €0.665) of Demetra Holdings Plc with €38,119 (up 7.2% – closing price €0.67) and Logicom with €23,371 (no change – closing price €2.86).

Of the shares that were traded, five moved up, five down, while none remained unchanged. The number of transactions amounted to 92.

Of the stocks being traded, 7 moved up, 3 down and 4 remained unchanged. The number of transactions reached 134.
