The Cyprus Stock Exchange registered a fall on Friday. The General Index lost 0.11%, closing at 115.63 points. The FTSE/CySE 20 Index fell by 0.11%, closing at 69.93 points. The daily turnover was €226,997.29.
On a weekly basis, the market fell by 0.96%.
The Main Market indices recorded losses by 0.25 % and Investment Companies at a rate of 1.27%.
On the contrary, the Alternative Market index showed gains of 0.40% and the Hotels index of 0.63%.
The Bank of Cyprus securities attracted the most investment interest with €199,175.11 ( down 1.42% – closing price €2.77).
The shares of Vassilikos Cement followed with €7,064.90 (up 2.17% – closing price €2.82), Logicom at €6,486.04 (up 0.86% – closing price €2.34), ATLANTIC INSURANCE COMPANY PUBLIC with €3,793.70 (down 4.73% – closing price €1.61) and of Dimitra Investments with €3,029.70 (down 0.93% – closing price €0.53).
Of the stocks traded, six moved up, seven down and three remained unchanged.
The number of trades was limited to 80.
In the meantime, the Cyprus Stock Exchange announces the continuation of the suspension of trading of the securities of Cyprus Trading Corporation Plc, Woolworth (Cyprus) Properties Plc, Ermes Department Stores Plc and Aiantas Investment Public Ltd, following a decision of the Capital Market Commission, which was taken based on the authority granted to it by section 70(2)(m) of the Investment Services and Activities and Regulated Markets Law of 2017, as applicable from time to time.
The Capital Market Commission, after taking into account the positions/announcements of the above companies as well as the fact that the Stock Exchange does not have the authority to suspend the trading of the securities of the above companies for a further period of time, decided as requested by the CSE Council the suspension the trading of the securities of these companies on the CSE from August 1, 2023 until their compliance and at the latest until October 31, 2023, if by the end of the existing suspension period they have not complied with their obligation to disclose the pending financial information.
The Commission reached the above decision, as Cyprus Trading Corporation Plc, Woolworth (Cyprus) Properties Plc and Ermes Department Stores Plc, have not complied with their obligation to publish their Annual Financial Report for the year ended 31/12/2021, of their Semi-Annual Financial Report for the period ending on 30/6/2022 and of their Annual Financial Report for the year ending on 12/31/2022, with the result that investors are not provided with the required information, for the financial situation of the said companies.
Besides, Aiantas Investment Public Ltd has not complied with its obligation to publish its Annual Financial Report for the year ending on 12/31/2019, its Half-Yearly Financial Report for the period ending on 6/30/2020 , the Annual Financial Report for the year ended 12/31/2020, the Half-Yearly Financial Report for the period ended 6/30/2021, the Annual Financial Report for the year ended 12/31/2021, of the Semi-Annual Financial Report for the period ending on 30/6/2022 and of the Annual Financial Report for the year ending on 31/12/2022, with the result that investors are not provided with the required information, for the financial status of said company.
