On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in an atmosphere of joy and emotion, a simple event of cutting the Vasilopita for the coming of the new year was held at the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled.
At the event, the vice president of the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled Ms. Christina Dimitriou welcomed the attendees and emphasized that the presence of everyone gave special joy to the Center's management and staff.
Mrs. Christina Dimitriou mentioned that last year the opportunity was given to organize various activities with the aim of continuous upgrading the services offered by the Center for the Disabled.
He made special reference to the participation of the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled as a co-organizer in the organization of the charity Festival: "SAINT LAZAROS AND HIS LITTLE FRIEND SAVVAS". The charity Festival was organized on October 15 and 16, 2022 and part of the proceeds were donated to the financial support of the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled.
As a sign of recognition, appreciation, gratitude and good cooperation with the Orchard of Saint Lazarus, Ms. Christina Dimitriou thanked the Great Benefactor of the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled, Mr. Lazaros Filippou, who has always been a helper and supporter in the efforts made by the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled by dynamically supporting and financially supporting the Center.
Addressing Mr. Lazaros Filippou, she said: «Mr. Philippou, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kind effort to financially support the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled. Mrs. Christina Dimitriou officially announced that this year the organizing committee of the Charity Festival "SAINT LAZARUS AND HIS LITTLE FRIEND SAVVAS" the amount of 50 thousand euros to support the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled.
He emphasized that the continuous support and financial support that the Agios Lazaros Disabled Center receives from the proceeds of the Charity Festival "SAINT LAZAROS AND HIS LITTLE FRIEND SABBAS" is part of the work of MINISTRY, OFFERING AND LOVE of the Precinct of Agios Lazaros. He pointed out that this remarkable project which is being carried out is based on the voluntary and humanitarian action of the VOLUNTEER GROUP of the Precinct of Agios Lazaros where with the inspiration and guidance of Mr. Lazarus Philippou, but also with the blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Kiti, etc. Nektariou is performed a wonderful work of MINISTRY, OFFERING AND LOVE towards fellow man and society.
Ms. Yolanda Zachariou, president of the board of directors of the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled, in her speech stated that the needs of the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled are not fully covered by the state, so the Center relies on volunteering and the volontary offering. He thanked Mr. Lazaros Filippou and emphasized that the contribution of both himself and the volunteers as well as of the Agios Lazaros Precinct is very important for meeting the needs of the Center.
Mr. Lazaros Filippou was awarded an Honorary Plaque from the Agios Lazaros Center for the Disabled as a sign of appreciation and respect.
In his speech, Mr. Lazaros Filippou was happy and deeply moved but also clearly grateful for this kind action of the management of the Center for the Disabled to thank him .
