On March 9, 2023, the presentation of the study by the Cyprus Human Resources Development Authority (HRDA) “Forecasts of labor force demand and supply in the Cypriot economy 2022-2032”.

The aim of the event was to highlight the ever-changing landscape in the labor market, but also to promote the use of the study for policy-making, by the competent bodies such as the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance and the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth.

In the presentation that took place at the offices of the Anti-Corruption Commission, the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, Mr. Yiannis Panagiotou, as well as representatives of relevant organizations and social partners, attended.

In his greeting, the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance focused on the importance of lifelong learning. The Minister emphasized that nowadays, which are characterized by constant and rapid changes, every professional must constantly renew his knowledge and skills, in order to be able to adequately respond to the new requirements. Also, the Minister linked the results of the study with what needs to be done through the Recovery and Resilience Plan of Cyprus, for the period 2021-2026.

The President of the Board of Directors followed with his own greeting. HRD Mr. Dimitris Kittenis, who, among other things, mentioned that the study is used by many public and private agencies and services that deal with the issue of human resources planning and the professional guidance of young people in Cyprus, as well as by policy-making bodies in the field of education, training and lifelong learning.

The event culminated with the detailed and extremely interesting presentation of the study by Mr. Stelios Mytidis, 1st Class Human Resources Officer and the presentation of the online tool with the forecasts in each of the 309 occupations of the Cypriot economy by Mr. Alexis Ioannou, Human Resources Officer.

So much the study as well as the detailed forecasts for each profession have been posted on the ANAD website (https://www.anad.org.cy/) for all interested parties.
