    He developed a rich volunteer work, especially for the elderly. He spearheaded the establishment of the All-Cyprus Welfare Association for the elderly in 1981. In 1992, he was elected President of the All-Cypriot Association for the Welfare of the Elderly and then, on his recommendation, it was decided to become the All-Cypriot Federation of Associations for the Welfare of the Elderly.

    He served from time to time as President of POSEH and was president of the Pan-Cypriot Volunteer Coordinating Council in the two years 1994-1995.

    From the establishment of the Provincial Association for the Welfare of the Elderly Pafos, until at the end of his life he served as president, until he fell asleep suffering from the corona virus.

    His work and contribution to the Association is enormous. Love, charity, almsgiving, a hopeful smile to the despondent, a visit to the lonely old man, a comforting word in times of sorrow and pain, a blessed visit to their sicknesses and trials, gave him great joy because he had the opportunity to offers something, “something small and insignificant” as she typically said, Ms. Stroppou said among others.
