The DIKO Political Conference and the 12th regular Pancyprian Conference of the Ecologists 'Movement – Citizens' Cooperation are being held hybridly today. Participation in both conferences will be by physical and online presence.
The DIKO Political Conference starts at 10 in the morning at the Municipal Theater of Strovolos. The conference will begin with a speech by the President of the party, Nikola Papadopoulos, followed by a presentation of an internal referendum. The Chairman of the Socialist and Democrat group of the European Parliament, S&D, Iratxe García Pérez will also be greeted and a draft of the Political Declaration will be presented. The work of the conference will follow only for the participants in it.
The 12th regular Pancyprian Conference of the Ecologists 'Movement – Citizens' Cooperation will also be held hybridly, at 11 at the Municipal Theater of Latsia.
The President, the Vice President, two Vice-Presidents and 21 members of the Central Committee of the Movement will be elected by direct vote at the conference.
At the next meeting of the Central Committee, scheduled for February 13 under its new composition, the remaining members of the Political Committee and the Executive Secretariat will be elected (Executive, Deputy Executive, Head of International Relations, Chief Financial Officer, .ο.κ.).
The position of President of the Ecologists movement is re-claimed by Charalambos Theopemptou and also claimed by Kyriakos Tsimillis and Sotiris Christou.
Efi Xanthou is re-claiming the position of Vice President and Alkis Papis, the current spokesperson of the Movement, and Sotiris Christou are re-claiming the position.
The candidates for the position of First Vice President of the Movement are: Stavros Alampritis, Phryni Onoufriou, Kyriakos Tsimillis, Sotiris Christou, Marios Chrysostomou.
Maria Kola, Antonis Kouparis, Panagiotis Manolis, Loukas Stylianou, Sotiris Christou, Marios Chrysostomou have submitted their candidacies for the position of Second Vice President.
