Will monitor its operation as it plays a key role in the green transition
High on the agenda of the Troika is the Cyprus Electricity Authority. An echelon of the Troika that was in Cyprus from Monday to Wednesday in the context of the 14th post-memorandum audit of the Cypriot economy, showed a special interest in the EAC. Without there being any shadow behind the Troika's interest in this Authority, what was conveyed to “K” is that from now on the Troika will give special importance to the EAC as it will play a leading role in the process of the country's green transition. Therefore, everything should work “clock-wise” in this Authority. It should be noted that the 269 million euros out of the total 447 million that will be absorbed by the Green Economy Recovery Fund are related to climate neutrality, energy efficiency and the penetration of renewable energy sources – RES. In addition to the EAC, the Troika showed interest in the institution of Provident Funds. Besides, next week, an IMF team is expected in Cyprus, which will give special weight to the parastatals.
