The Plenary Session of the Municipal Council has convened since 19:00 in the afternoon for the electoral process for the election of the new Deputy Mayor after the election of Nikos Sykas in Parliament.
Although initially there were three candidates for the position of Deputy Mayor, shortly before the election process, the municipal councilor, Prodromos Ttopouzis of the Solidarity Movement, withdrew his candidacy. There are now two candidates for the position of Deputy Mayor. They are the municipal councilor of DIKO, Neophyto Charalambidis and Haris Trikkis from DISY.
Voting is by secret ballot and is expected to be completed shortly.
26 Municipal Councilors and one the Mayor of Limassol are voting.
