The first flight that arrived from Sudan in Larnaca was welcomed on Tuesday night by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Konstantinos Kopos.
As stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter, the Minister carried out visit to the “Zino” Coordination Center in Larnaca, following the activation of the National Plan HESTIA for the provision of facilities and temporary accommodation of civilians from Sudan.
It is added that Mr. Kombos thanked the staff of the Ministries and other co-competent government agencies and organizations for the immediate response and the readiness they demonstrate.
Furthermore, he had the opportunity to welcome, on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus, the people who were freed on the first flight that arrived on Tuesday night, the post concludes.
