Work has begun on the road network that will connect the central core of the Municipality of Pegeia with the tourist area of the Coral Gulf, at a cost of 2.5 million euros.
In his statements to KYPE, the Mayor of Pegeia, Marinos Lambrou, stated that the works have started, in the framework of which a house was demolished at the junction of Akamantos Street and Michalaki Kypriakou Avenue, mainly, as he mentioned, for security reasons.
The Mayor of Pegeia noted that the studies for this project have been completed and its announcement is expected within a month.
According to the Mayor of Pegeia, the project will be fully funded by the Municipality of Pegeia, which will be the contracting authority. The first phase of the project, 2 km long, amounts to 2.5 million euros and will be paid by the Municipality of Pegeia, while the second phase, which will be an urban project, amounts to 5 million euros, he continued.
Mr. Lambrou stated that the project includes lighting, sidewalk construction, tree planting and underground cables.
