The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Konstantinos Kombos, met with the United Nations High Coordinator to discuss the next steps in relation to the “Amalthea& initiative& #8221;
The next steps in relation to the “Amalthia initiative” concerning the humanitarian corridor for the transfer of humanitarian aid from Cyprus to Gaza, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Konstantinos Kombos, discussed with the Senior Coordinator of the United Nations for Humanitarian Aid and the Reconstruction of Gaza Sigrid Kaag, with which met on the sidelines of the informal Council of Foreign Affairs in Brussels.
As stated in a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the “X” platform, Mr. Kombos reiterated Cyprus' full support for the mission of Ms. Kaag and thanked her and the UN 2720 group for their very close cooperation and coordination.
“The message is clear: Humanitarian aid to Gaza needs to be significantly increased through all routes and means, by land , air and sea”, it is stated in the post of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
