To strengthen the investment and business environment of Cyprus
The Government will institutionalize this dialogue with foreign investors, as well as with Cypriot businessmen, through the organization of events, such as the one held yesterday at the Presidential Palace, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letympiotis told reporters.
Something like this, as mentioned, it is done in the context of the Government's policy to strengthen the investment and business environment of our country.
“Attracting quality investments to our country is a priority for the Government. The very positive performance of the Cypriot economy is supported by large investments, but also creates a favorable environment for new quality investments. The aim remains that the great increase shown by the total contribution of investments in the last decade should continue”, he noted.
On Thursday, the Presidency, in cooperation with the Cyprus Investment Attraction Organization, held an event with foreign investors who are active in Cyprus.
As the Representative said, the aim of the event, which was held by the Presidency in collaboration with the Cyprus Investment Attraction Organization, and in which more than 100 investors participated, was to inform them about the initiatives implemented by the Government following the feedback received in similar event, which took place in June and during which a series of issues were raised by investors.
In this context, the progress of the implementation of the Investment and Talent Attraction Strategy implemented from 2022 was presented, as well as the strengthening of new actions, which were approved by the Cabinet on February 7, 2024.
He also noted that almost 2000 companies have been registered with the Company Facilitation Unit since 2022 employing 19,000 skilled workers and 500 digital nomad visas have been granted .
He added that the event also provided an opportunity to discuss and document further needs and challenges faced by investors, which the Government will take into account in future policy planning.
