In 2019, women's gross hourly earnings were on average 14.1% lower than those of men in the EU, according to data released today by Eurostat, the EU's statistical office.

This percentage differed between EU Member States, with the highest differences in Estonia (21.7%), Latvia (21.2%), Austria (19.9%) and Germany (19.2%). .

In Cyprus the gap is 10.1% and in Greece 10.4%, ranking the two countries in 7th and 8th place with the smallest salary differences respectively in the EU.
