The health condition of the four-legged female, who is being treated at a University Clinic in Israel, after being infected with streptococcus type A, shows a significant improvement, with the Ministry of Health stressing that what is expected in the next few days is that she will be extubated.
The General Director of the Ministry of Health, Christina Giannaki, speaking to Ant1, said that the health condition of the four-year-old girl who is suffering from streptococcus type A shows a significant improvement day by day and goes from good to better. In fact, what is expected at this moment is to be extubated, since the little girl has been intubated in the Intensive Care Unit since her admission to Makarios Hospital.
Ms. Giannaki also referred to the necessity that existed for the immediate transfer of the little girl to Israel, since as he noted “it was a very difficult decision that I made. If he stayed here he would die. We had also discussed it with the Israelites. From good to better the course of the girl's health who is hospitalized in Israel”.
The general director of the Ministry of Health pointed out that there is daily contact with the treating doctors of the four-year-old, so that the Ministry of Health is in a position to know the course of her health.
It is recalled that the four-year-old she was infected with type A streptococcus and it was deemed necessary to be intubated on December 18 and a specialist pediatric intensivist and pediatric infectious disease specialist had come to Cyprus to examine her. Due to the worsening of her condition, the four-year-old was transferred to Israel, where she is being monitored by specialists.
However, a second case of a child with type A streptococcus was recorded in Cyprus, and it is an eight-year-old girl. who had been transferred to Makarios Hospital on December 27, with his health condition not being as critical as the four-year-old's.
Specifically, the eight-year-old is hospitalized in the Pediatric Ward of Makarios Hospital and is receiving medication, with her state of health not to inspire any danger.
