In the morning, the Thanos Hotels Group made a statement stating that a dialogue with the trade unions is in progress and the fact that a strike has taken place while there is an ongoing dialogue process, it is something alienating. It also speaks of actions which cause irreparable damage to the tourism sector of Cyprus and harm the image of the country abroad.</p> <p><strong>The company announcement</strong></p> <p>The unannounced strike by a group of employees, which took place yesterday, in our Group's hotels, violates the Industrial Relations Code and is deemed unnecessary and unjustified.</p> <p>We are surprised and saddened by the fact that the strike took place while the dialogue process with the PEO and SEK unions is in progress. In this context, there is a meeting scheduled for next Wednesday, October 11, before the Labor Relations Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance. <br />The Thanos Hotels Group & Resorts clarifies that the payment of the Automatic Price Adjustment (ATA) has been made normally, to all employees.</p> <p>We recognize that the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance has taken the necessary initiatives to immediately lift the strike and in a spirit of consensus, we hope that constructive dialogue will continue to resolve the dispute.<br />Such actions cause irreparable damage to the tourism sector of Cyprus and affect the image of our country abroad, especially at a time when hotel occupancy remains at high levels. The Group's highest priority has always been social welfare and the strengthening of the Cypriot economy.
