In the final stretch are the procedures from the Ministry of Health and the Hellenic Humanitarian Civil Society Organization KIDS SAVE LIVES-Children Save Lives, for the launch of the iSAVElives application, within January 2023.

The Ministry of Health, with its announcement, appeals to businesses, organizations and citizens who have an Automatic External Defibrillator, to register it in the KIDS SAVE LIVES online National Map of Defibrillators and in file of the Ministry of Health.

As reported, the technical teams of KIDS SAVE LIVES, the Resuscitation Services of the Ministry of Health, the Cardiology Clinic of the Nicosia Hospital (OKYpY) and the Ambulance Service (OKypY), are working tirelessly to settle technical and other issues, with the aim of a timely start of the program in Cyprus.

Through the memorandum of cooperation signed on November 11, 2022, between the Minister of Health, Michalis Hatzipandela  and the President of the Greek Humanitarian Civil Society Organization KIDS SAVE LIVES – Children Save Lives, Anastasios Stefanakis, a common front of solidarity is created for the immediate shielding, safety, protection and rescue of every human life that is at risk of a heart attack, drowning or other cause.

It is noted that for the more effective implementation of the iSAVElives application in Cyprus, with the aim of reducing the response time to life-threatening incidents – with the assistance of certified Community First Responders -, the assistance and awareness of ALL citizens is required.

Businesses, organizations and citizens who have an Automatic External Defibrillator are invited to register the AED/AED in the online National Defibrillator Map hosted on the KIDS SAVE LIVES website: https://kidssavelives.gr/add-new-aed /, and in the updating and update of AED/AEA data kept in the Ministry of Health file, filling out a form and completing the process by March 1.

According to the instructions, before proceeding with the registration of/of the AED/AEA, check if it is functional (active battery/electrodes) and if the necessary auxiliary consumables are present in the package (towel, scissors, razor, protective face mask for rescue breaths, as well as personal protective equipment such as masks and 3-5 pair of gloves). After replacing or securing all of the above, proceed with its registration. After you complete registration, the app's National Defibrillator Charter Technical Team may contact you.
