Although the Lido cabaret tried to modernize its performances and adapt to the times, it continued to lose money and changed hands at the end of 2021.
The new owner, the French hotel giant Accor, said to staff on Thursday that it will lay off 157 of its 184 employees, including the “Bluebell girls” dance troupe, according to several sources who spoke to AFP.
