The Ministry proceeded with the establishment of a special Long Covid scientific committee of Health, chaired by the Professor of the University of Nicosia, Dr. Konstantinos Fellas.
As the Ministry of Health states in a relevant announcement, “recognizing the importance and systemic nature of the medical and social problem of the prolonged syndrome of the disease COVID-19 (Long Covid) and adopting the relevant instructions of the World Health Organization, proceeds to set up a special scientific committee. The aim of this committee is to study and evaluate the presence of the Long Covid syndrome in the population and to submit proposals for ways to raise public awareness and plan appropriate support for sufferers, in collaboration with involved bodies including the Pancypriot Medical Association, the State Services Organization of Health and the Federation of Cyprus Patient Associations”
“As coordinator of the project and President of the Cyprus Long Covid Committee, the Professor of the University of Nicosia, Dr. Konstantinos Fellas”, concludes the Ministry.
