The marinas paid € 1.8 million to the state in 2019

The state received almost 2 million euros in 2019 from the marinas, according to a special report by the Audit Office for the Ministry of Tourism. At the same time, he notes that there are arrears from previous years.

According to the report, from 2.1.2019 until 18.11.2019, the Ministry of Tourism received from the managers of the marinas a total rent of € 1,867,944, as follows:

In relation to the above receipts, the Audit Office notes that in the Budget of the State Department no accounts were created for rents and other revenues from the marinas and thus all revenues are credited to Account “502 – Rents”, in which rents are recorded for various premises leased by the CTO.

Also, a recommendation / suggestion is made for the inclusion of relevant Revenue Funds for the entry in the Budgets of the revenues from the marinas.

The Audit Office also mentions in its report delayed revenues from the marinas and recommends that all appropriate measures be recorded and taken to recover the amounts owed.
