The so-called Prime Minister Ersan Saner announced the measures against the coronavirus that will apply in the occupied areas from March 8 to 15.
As he said, there will be no traffic ban on weekdays except from 21:00 to 5:00. On weekends there will be a curfew from 21:00 on Friday until 5:00 on Monday and exits will be allowed only for urgent and necessary needs as it is today. Only supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, gas stations and pharmacies will be open on Saturdays, while only pharmacies and bakeries will be open on Sundays.
The restaurants will open on March 10 and will be able to serve customers only outdoors.
Residents of occupied Nicosia and Kyrenia will not be able to move to the also occupied Lefka, Morphou, Trikomo and Famagusta, if it is not necessary, and will only be able to do so after special permission, due to the increased incidence in these four areas.
It was also decided to start individual and outdoor non-contact sports activities.
Taxi drivers will be able to travel with special permission and a negative 72-hour PCR test to the free areas to transport passengers to Larnaca Airport.
