The meeting of the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis with the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for the Cypriot Jane Hall Luth started a while ago.
The meeting is attended by Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulidis, the negotiator of the Greek Cypriot side, Andreas Mavrogiannis, the Government Spokesman, Kyriakos Kousios and the Head of the Diplomatic Office of the President, Kyriakos Kouros.
The focus of the meeting is the preparation of an informal five-party conference on the Cyprus issue and Ms. Lut's visit to Cyprus, which will meet later today with the Turkish leader, is part of the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres' initiative for preparation for the convening of an informal conference on the Cyprus issue with a composition of 5 + 1.
It is noted that Ms. Lut will have a meeting at 2.30 pm with the Turkish leader, Ersin Tatar.
The UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy met again with the two leaders in December 2020 and had contacts with all three guarantor countries.
