The mercury remains high, with the Met Office issuing a new yellow warning for Friday.
According to the Meteorological Service, the maximum temperature on Friday is expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius inland. The yellow warning is expected to be in effect from 12:00 noon on Friday until 16:00 the same day.

Tomorrow, the weather in the greater part of the island will be mostly clear, while at intervals on the coasts, locally increased low clouds will be observed. During the midday hours and after, clouds that will develop in the mountains may give isolated rain. Winds will initially be variable light, 3 Beaufort gradually becoming mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and on the south and east coasts to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea in the morning in the west and north will be a little rough, while in the south and east it will be calm to a little rough, but gradually it will become generally a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 41 degrees in the interior, around 33 on the west and southwest coasts, around 35 on the rest of the coasts and around 31 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow evening, the weather will be mostly clear, although there will be increased low cloud locally along the coast. Later and during the morning hours, light mist or fog may form locally, particularly inland and in the southeast. Winds will gradually turn downslope, light, 3 Beaufort. The sea to the west and north will remain a little rough, but to the south and east it will become calm to a little rough.
On Saturday, Sunday and also on Monday , the weather will be mainly sunny, while locally increased clouds will be observed at intervals. During the morning hours, light mist or fog may form locally.
Temperatures through Monday will remain at the same levels, to continue to hover above average climatic values of the season.
