The Church of Cyprus is represented by Metropolitan Basilios of Constantia and Famagusta, at the "International Meeting of Prayer for Peace", which takes place in Rome.
In a written announcement by the Metropolis of Constantia and Famagusta it is reported that "this year the "International Meeting of Prayer for Peace, entitled International Meeting for Peace – "The Cry of Peace", is taking place in Rome and started yesterday Sunday 23rd and will end tomorrow Tuesday 25th October".
It is added that "the event brings together the hopes of peace of peoples and cultures, at a time characterized by the tragic return of war to Europe, which causes so many victims and so many disasters. We must send a strong message of hope and trust in the future and the world urgently needs an architecture of dialogue that protects and affirms peace, always and in every context.
