The establishment of a technical committee with the participation of agricultural organizations to examine the impacts of the prolonged drought and adverse climatic conditions on the agricultural world was agreed upon by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panayiotou, with representatives of the Agricultural Organizations on Thursday.
A statement from the Ministry of Agriculture states that the Minister chaired the meeting of the Advisory Committee, during which the challenges facing the agricultural world were discussed.
In the context of the discussion, it is noted, the Minister “reaffirmed the government's position to support the rural world due to the effects of the prolonged drought and adverse climatic conditions and referred to the efforts made by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Rural Development at the EU and MED 9 levels”.
“It was also agreed to establish a technical committee with the participation of agricultural organizations for further examination of the issue”, it is reported.
In parallel, during the meeting, issues such as the simplification of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), the announcement of the Investment Measure of the Strategic Rural Development Plan 2023 – 2027 for the year 2025, as well as issues related to simplified registration procedures in the Farmers' Registry, were discussed.
It is added that an update was also provided on the progress of the implementation of the goat and sheep registration system software milk.
According to the announcement, the Minister stated that cooperation with agricultural organizations is good and a given and that the goal is to solve the problems of the rural world and ensure their agricultural income.
