The new finance minister, Mehmet Simsek, reportedly had a meeting with Hafiz Gaye Erkan, whom he intends to be the new governor of the Central Bank of Turkey, in Ankara.
It is also reported that Erkan will also meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and, if appointed, would be the first female president in the history of Turkey's Central Bank.
Who is Hafiz Gaye Erkan:
