It is recalled that the pharmacists expressed their intention to refrain from their duties from October 1, when the winter hours begin, because nine pharmacies throughout Cyprus have secured an “interim order” from the Court, resulting in at the expense of the two-day pharmacy.

It is noted that as explained by the president of the Pancypriot Pharmaceutical Association, Plutarchos Georgiadis, the pharmacies that have secured an interim order can open and close at any time they want, until the case is heard by the Court, which has been going on for the last two years, without so far result.

Mr. Georgiadis, speaking to the REPORTER, said that the Pancypriot Pharmaceutical Association establishes the two-day meetings, which together with the council of pharmaceuticals are signed by the respective Minister of Health.

As he explained, “there is a decree issued by the Minister, who is responsible for the timetables and for the two-day shifts, which start after the end of the timetables. We can't wait for a decision from the Court, for some colleagues, who didn't say what they wanted (about the two-day shifts), they appealed the Minister's decree and the Court gave them an Interim order not to work hours”.

< p data-block-key="b9uml">Giving more clarifications, Mr. Georgiadis noted that “the Interim order is given for a certain period of time until a decision of the Court is issued. We have been waiting for two years and we are doing two-day appointments and a pharmacy next to them has an interim order to open whenever it wants. This is not correct”.

As he indicated, “a Court decision must be issued, we need to know what is happening with the timetables so that they can enter two-day sessions. The Ministry and the Courts must understand that we are not businesses, we are health workers for the good of patients, so it is a function for the world to know. where he should go and where he should stay during the hours when the pharmacies are closed”.

It is noted that after the developments an emergency pharmacy council was convened by the pharmaceutical services, so the The Ministry did what it should do and what needs to change is the Courts.
