“The starting point of a new route for the Municipality of Akamas”
The promise that the Municipality of Akamas will be established as a model of cultural action and social participation was given on Wednesday night the Mayor of Akama Marinos Lambrou in his greeting at Vassilis Papakonstantinou's concert.
Mr. Lambrou said that the concert is not just the beginning of an autumn cultural journey, “but also the starting point of a new route for the Municipality of Akamas”.
In the crowded place Municipal Stadium of Pegeia where the concert was held, Mr. Lambrou said that last night's musical event in the Municipality of Akamas, marks a new era for the Local Government and the cultural life of our country.
Our new Municipality, created by the amalgamation of seven communities under the Akama umbrella, promises to keep the bar high in cultural events, offering our citizens more opportunities for creative expression and entertainment, he added.
Mr. Lambrou continued by saying that in this context a total of sixteen musical evenings and theatrical performances were organized this summer in all the municipal departments, giving the opportunity to highlight all the individual areas and promote cultural upgrading and the distinct and unique culture that now characterizes the new Municipality of Akamas, making the area a pioneer in the cultural sector as well
With enthusiasm and dedication we assure you, said the Mayor, “how we will make everyone's everyday life more pleasant, to give every citizen a step to participate in decisions concerning our place, and to establish the Municipality of Akamas as a model of cultural action and social participation”.
As part of his concert, Vassilis Papakonstantinou sang melodies and lyrics by Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Loizou, Thanos Mikroutsikou. , Tassos Livaditis, Costas Karyotakis, Nikos Kavadias, Nikolas Asimos and many others.
