The Municipal Council of Limassol unanimously decided to name the Municipal Center of Social Services, in “Municipal Apartment Buildings of Rich Serbs”, thus honoring the memory of its former Mayor.
The decision, according to a statement from the Municipality, was taken after a suggestion by the Mayor of Limassol, Nikos Nikolaidis, “as a tribute to the late Plouti Serba, who as Mayor of Limassol associated his name with the end of World War II, with the construction of the first popular apartment buildings in which many vulnerable families of the city found shelter “.
It is reminded that the Municipality of Limassol is in the process of renovation and restoration of the municipal houses in Misiaouli and Kavazoglou, which are monuments of historical and architectural importance, with the aim of creating a Center of Social Services of the Municipality.
The three apartment buildings that will be renovated, along with an additional building, will house both social services and programs of the Municipality, but will also host programs of a social nature, by institutions, organizations and associations of the city.
Among other things, the Youth Organization and the Maternity Program of TEPAK will be hosted.
The project, with a total budget of 4 million euros, plus VAT, is expected to be completed next March.
