Message from new President PASYXE:
< p>In a statement after his election, the new President of PASYXE, Thanos Michaelidis, thanked everyone who supported him, showing that he is fully aware of the responsibility, challenges and problems that plague the industry over time, such as the lack of staff, but also the excessive dependence on specific markets which, as the experience of previous years has shown, are not beneficial.
“Undoubtedly, the hotel industry is developing in a constantly changing environment, influenced by external factors. The aim is to face any challenges with modern means, continuing to invest in the model of public and private sector cooperation that brought significant results for the sector, the economy and by extension our country, as well as in the continuous upgrading of our tourism product. In any case, tourism remains a pillar of the Cypriot economy with a substantial contribution to the GDP of the order of 23%, to the labor market and the development activity”, the new President of PASYXE sent a message.
Mr. Michaelidis expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the late president of PASYXE, friend Haris Loizidis for his multifaceted, multi-year and important contribution to the Association and to the tourism industry. “He set the bar very high, and I hope that I, in turn, live up to the expectations,” he emphasized.
