The new Regional Office of the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization was inaugurated today at noon in Polis Chrysochous, which started its operation on 10.1.22. The Commissioner of the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization (KOAP) Andreas Z. Kyprianou in his statements during the inauguration stated that one of the first goals he had set, when he took over as Commissioner of the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization, was to serve the Cypriot farmer, our farmer and our breeder.
He added that a constant request of the farmers of the area, farmers, stockbreeders, citizens in general of the district of Polis Chrysochous and the Akamas Peninsula, was just to stop this suffering, to need to cross this very difficult road to Paphos. to be served. He said that from January 10, “farmers in the area can be served by the Office of the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization here in Polis Chrysochous”.
He noted that “all the services of the Agency will be accessible both in terms of applications, but also in terms of information, because you know that we are entering the new common agricultural policy and there is a lot that our young people need to learn in order to be interested in various programs arising from the new common EU agricultural policy ”.
There is, said Mr. Kyprianou, huge funding that can be raised and our purpose and goal is to keep young people in the countryside. He added that in order to maintain the beautiful Cypriot countryside and our communities, we must create a family income for young people, through agriculture, animal husbandry, processing traditional products and so on.
He also said that with the completion of this move, they have covered almost all areas geographically and in the countryside. As he explained, there is a Regional Office in both Kyperounta and Polis Chrysochous, while they can also see the area of Solea. “I believe that where there is a central point that can function as a branch of the organization to serve the farmers, we will do it”, adding that their purpose is not “the employees of the organization to be in the Offices, but to serve the farmer and that is the attempt”.
Asked about this, Mr. Kyprianou noted that at the moment there are Regional Offices in all cities, including Paralimni. That is, as he said in Nicosia, there are two central offices, both the District Office and the headquarters of the Organization's Administration. There are also offices in Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, the Famagusta Free Zone, Paralimni, there are offices in Kyperounta, and in Pitsilia.
Now operated, a new Office in the Polis Chrysochous district continued, stating that they will examine the additional needs that exist and that arise and are ready to implement them.
Moreover, the Head of the District Office of KOAP Mr. Hatzigiannis expressed his satisfaction for the inauguration of the second Office in the Province of Paphos, the first Regional, which, as he said, is done in order to serve a number of applicants from thirty villages, starting Giolou up to the Tower of Tillyria. He added that they hope to contribute to the development of the region in general with their presence in the region.
It is noted that with the operation of the Regional Office of KOAP in Polis Chrysochous all residents of the area of Polos Chrysochous and Tillyria will be able to be served by the new Regional Office daily Monday to Friday from 8:00 am. until 2:30 p.m.
