By 2023 all workers applying for a pension will start receiving a pension in the month immediately following reaching the pensionable age limit
In one month the new pensioners will receive a pension according to with the statements of the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance Mr. Yannis Panagiotou regarding the timely payment of the statutory pension upon reaching the retirement age.
The relevant announcement
The timely payment of benefits, for which citizens are entitled by the Social Insurance Services, is a priority of the Governance Program, in the context of the people-centered policy implemented by the Government.
In this direction, the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance announces that planning has been completed and is being implemented for the payment of the first payment of the statutory pension within one month of the date of reaching the retirement age.
At the same time, the implementation of the government plan for the timely payment of all benefits paid by the Social Insurance Services continues. By speeding up the processes for examining requests submitted by citizens: optimizing the use of human resources, simplifying processes, leveraging technology and introducing innovations. It is typically reported that within the next few days, the completion of the preparatory work that began immediately after the assumption of duties of the new Government, for the overtime support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance by officials of other state agencies in non-working hours for the examination of the requests of citizens, in which the Social Insurance Services, the Department of Public Administration and Personnel and the Legal Service participate.
The human-centered policy is essential and focuses on the small and large challenges of citizens' daily lives, which the state and the public service must serve effectively.
