Free PCR tests in Nicosia and Kyrenia, areas with heavy epidemiological burden, are being carried out today in the occupied territories, while in the morning the “Minister of Health”, Ali Pilli announced that another 25 cases were confirmed by laboratory tests of samples of the previous 24 hours.
Last night in the occupied areas 32 cases were announced, the 28 domestic ones in a total of 2135 tests. Of the confirmed incidents, 9 were located in Nicosia, 22 in Kyrenia and one in the Morphou area.
The total number of cases is 2287. A total of 410 people are under observation or treatment, of which 102 are in pandemic hospital and 297 in pandemic / quarantine hotels.
It was announced yesterday that the number of patients in the intensive care unit was 11.
Mr Pilli said today that the results of the lockdown would be visible in the second week and not this, saying that they would see a drop of 3-5 cases every day.
Regarding the vaccination program, he said that their goal is to have 20 centers and to complete the vaccinations by the end of March.
He added that the vaccination schedule is being set for February 12th, noting that so far they have received 40,000 doses of vaccine from Turkey and 2,500 from the EU.
