Business executives who attended the event also had the opportunity to be briefed and asked about funding opportunities arising from the individual sponsorship projects planned by the Government.

The government was represented by the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry, Natasa Pileidou and the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Costas Kadis.

On behalf of EV, the event was prefaced by Stavros Pantzaris, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EV Cyprus.

Dr. Theodoulos Mesimeris, Senior Officer of the Department of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, presented the Ministry's plan to reduce greenhouse gas (CO2eq) emissions in industries, businesses and organizations, which is part of the European reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Afterwards, Andreas Lizidis, Industrial Applications Officer A 'of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, presented the plan to promote energy efficiency investments in small and medium enterprises, municipalities, communities and institutions of the wider public sector.

Panos Houtris, Director of Sustainable Development Services of EV Cyprus, presented the Climate Change and Energy Transition services offered by EV, explaining why it is necessary to reduce the pollution of a company today. He pointed out that EV guides its customers throughout the process of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, helping companies to understand the current carbon footprint, set strategic goals, establish the right procedures and communicate results in a timely manner.

Then, the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry, Natasa Pileidou, presented the strategy of the Ministry for a low-emission economy, and referred in detail to the incentives and funding of the project. Ms. Pileidou stressed: “The strategy of the Ministry aims, among other things, at removing the energy isolation of Cyprus through a reliable corridor for the transfer of electricity from the Eastern Mediterranean to Europe and the development of energy storage technology.”
