The Lanitei High School Parents' Association calls for the adaptation of the curriculum, based on the useful teaching time, so that the teachers can carry out their teaching work effectively and the students can consolidate it, while also warning of dynamic measures.
In today's letter to the Minister of Education, the Association states that the this year's material for the examined courses, especially in the 3rd Lyceum, is the same as that of the 2017-2018 academic year, recalling that at that time there were still no four-month exams.
“If we take into account that in recent years, amid the corona virus and its various problems, our children have been taught reduced material, this year they are asked to cope with this year's reinforced material”, they add
Unfortunately, they add, what they find “it is the constant running of the teaching professors from the beginning of the school year, just to cover the curriculum, which for us as parents is completely unacceptable”.
The organized parents call the Minister to give instructions immediately “to adapt the teaching material, even now, based on the useful teaching time, so that the teachers can carry out their teaching work effectively and at the same time the students consolidate it”.
The at the same time, they warn that, if by next Monday, December 5, there is no positive response to their requests, they will proceed to take dynamic measures.
“Our children are not laboratory animals, they have dreams and goals and we support them to implement them”, the letter continues and expresses confidence in the political judgment of the Minister of Education and the hope for a quick response.
