The pedestrian who was swept away by a vehicle in Pegia is hospitalized in serious condition, according to the Press Representative of ADE Paphos and Head of TAE Paphos Michalis Nikolaou.

According to Mr. Nikolaou, the accident occurred around 5:45 in the afternoon when a car driven by a woman heading from Agios Georgios Pegeias to Pegeia, at some point of the road under circumstances that are being investigated, it seems to have struck a 76-year-old pedestrian.

From the preliminary tests, it appears that the 76-year-old was crossing the road from right to left according to the course of the vehicle.

An ambulance was called to the scene with which the injured person was taken to the Department of Accidents and Emergencies of the General Hospital of Paphos where he was detained for hospitalization. According to the treating doctors, his health condition is serious.
