The former big player in the field of sports, who was named by the shooting champion, Andri Eleftheriou, as the person who sexually abused her, did not appear before the investigators today either.
The man suggested by the Olympian in her testimony was called to the police last week but did not appear on the grounds that his lawyer was restricted due to being diagnosed with coronavirus.
According to information from politis.com.cy, the person in question informed the investigators today that he will not come to the scheduled appointment for deposition due to an obstacle that occurred to him.
The same information states that the deposition of the former sports player was rescheduled for next Tuesday morning.
Presentation notice
However, the Police stated to politis.com.cy that they can not force him to come for deposition and that there is no risk of alteration of evidence after so many years to issue a warrant.
However, if for some reason he refuses to come again to testify before the investigators, then the Police intends to issue a presentation notice in order to force him to go. Because after the issuance of a presence notice, if he refuses to come to testify then a criminal offense will arise and therefore the Police will be able to issue an arrest warrant.
