Prehistory records three matches, all at a friendly level and both teams achieved one victory and one match ended in a draw.
We met the Ukrainians for the first time on February 28, 2001 at the GSZ Stadium for the 5th International Men's National Team Tournament KOP.
Our national team prevailed 4-3 in the extra time (golden goal) from goals scored by Giannos Okkas (17 ΄), Giotis Egkomitis (39 ′), Costas Malekkos (81 ′) and Haris Charalambous (104 ′). Meleshchenko (9 ′) and Vorobey (57 ′, 63 ′) scored for Ukraine.

On February 6, 2008, in the second friendly between us, we drew 1-1 at the GSP Stadium. In the 15th minute, the Ukrainians were ahead and Cyprus equalized in the 19th minute with Stathis Aloneftis.

Our third friendly took place in Ukraine, on March 24, 2016 at the Chernomorets Stadium in Odessa and the hosts won 1-0 with a goal by Stepanenko in the 40th minute.
