DIKO had a meeting with the General Secretary of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubas today
The developments in the Cyprus issue and the upcoming European elections were the main topics of discussion during the meeting of the President of the Democratic Party Nikolas Papadopoulos with a delegation of the KKE led by its Secretary General Dimitris Koutsoubas on Thursday, in the presence of the Deputy President of DIKO Christianas Erotokritos, the Press Representative Theodoros Manitaras and its Director office of the party president Giorgos Ioannou.
According to a statement, during the meeting Mr. Papadopoulos underlined the importance of these meetings, stressing that DIKO's permanent position is that maintaining contacts and exchanging views with the Greek parties, regardless of any ideological differences, is particularly useful and can only bring benefits to Cyprus and Greece.
It is added that the President of DIKO also informed Mr. Koutsoumba about the latest developments in the Cyprus issue and the recent meeting of the party's delegation with the Personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations, while the upcoming European elections were also discussed, with the leaders of the two parties making special reference to the danger posed by the polling rise of the extreme right, for Cyprus and Greece, but also Europe in general.
