The President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, will have contacts with the leaders of the parliamentary parties on Monday and Tuesday, with the aim, as he has stated, of achieving closer cooperation between the executive and the legislature.
Specifically, based on the schedule of his meetings, the President of the Republic will have meetings on Monday at 09.00 with the President of DISY, Averof Neophytou, at 09.45 with the General Secretary of AKEL, Andro Kyprianou, at 10.30 with the President of DIKO, Nikola Papadopoulos and at 11.15 with the President of ELAM Christos Christou.
On Tuesday he will meet at 09.00 with the President of EDEK, Marino Sizopoulos, at 09.45 with the President of the Democratic Party, Mario Karoyan and at 10.30 with the President of the Movement of Ecologists – Citizens' Cooperation, Charalambos Theopemptou.
President Anastasiadis had stated last Friday that the Government's goal is to work more closely with the legislature, and that for this purpose he will see all the party leaders.
“We have challenges ahead of us that must be addressed, we must through a climate of consensus for the benefit not only of the current Government, but for the benefit of society at large,” he noted. He added that for this reason more convergences are needed, more understanding, while he added that the people through the elections gave their messages to all of us, not in specific directions.
