The Primary School and the Kindergarten of Panagia remain closed today for a second day due to weather conditions, according to the First Officer of Primary Education of Paphos, Dimitris Mikellidis.
In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Mikellidis stated that in the District of Paphos only the Primary School and the Kindergarten of Panagia are closed, while the other Primary and Pre-Primary Education schools operate normally. He added that today is the first day that 18 centers in Paphos Primary Schools operate as centers for test to stay.
We are waiting, he said, “to see any operational problems, in order to be corrected in case there are and secondly whether there was a response and the parents actually came to them to follow the measure, taking advantage of the opportunity given to them by the Ministry to their children to continue their presence in schools without hindrance ”.
The First Officer of Primary Education of Paphos advised the parents to show patience with all the issues that happen. We all realize, he said, that we are in a period where we are all experiencing this state of emergency with the pandemic and a period of intense weather.
We need, he continued, “to show patience in all matters and how we approach schools and with our cars in the areas around the schools, so that we keep the environments inside and outside the school premises safe for our children”, he added.
Mr. Mikellidis also sent the message that as a Ministry they do their best so that the schools remain open and the provision of education to children is uninterrupted.
