Over of two million euros will cost the creation of an event/leisure space in the Tsiakkilero Government Settlement in Larnaca, the contract for which was signed today, Thursday between the Municipality of Larnaca and the company C. Roushas Trading and Development Ltd.
In a written statement from the Municipality of Larnaca, it is stated that “the contract was signed at the Municipal Hall of the city. The project, which is of a social nature, foresees, among other things, the creation of a playground and an active entertainment and sports zone and the construction of an open amphitheater with seating for approximately 150 people and a refreshment room and sanitary facilities. It also provides for the installation of lighting with new anti-vandal type lighting technology, installation of urban equipment, planting to enhance the greenery and undergrounding of the Public Utility Services (systems, water supply and irrigation, drainage and electricity).
It is added that “the redevelopment of the space will be such that it becomes a green lung and a point of entertainment, sports, rest and social interaction. The main aim is to give the area a character and atmosphere that satisfies the expectations of its residents and visitors as well as achieving sustainability in relation to improving the environment and the quality of life”.
It is noted that ” the preparation of the study and the design of the project was carried out by the architectural firm A. F. Modinos and SA Vrahimis Architects and Engineers, following an architectural competition announced by the Municipality of Larnaca. The execution of the Project will be done by the contracting company C. Roushas Trading and Development Ltd, the works will start on September 11 and its cost is expected to reach €1.8 million + VAT”.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Political Cohesion Program “THALEIA 2021-2027” with the co-financing of the European Union.
