According to government sources, the correctness of the policies implemented is evidenced by the fact that the proportion of the population at risk of poverty or social exclusion has been significantly reduced. The index showing the population experiencing severe material deprivation today fell to half of what it was in 2013, from 16.1% fell based on the latest available statistics in & nbsp; 8.3%. Both indicators are currently at their lowest point since 2005 when data are available. The number of people in Cyprus at risk of poverty or social exclusion is below the European Union average.

The low-income allowance has been tripled, ensuring that all beneficiaries have a total income that exceeds the poverty line.
