The right to freedom of speech is an inalienable right, and as such is protected and promoted by the Organization of Young Scientists. After all, this is the reason why most of the time our events concern open discussions through which the floor is given to those who wish it. Our aim is to have all views heard, regardless of whether they agree or disagree with our trials. The purpose of this event, with the invitation of the very recently elected New Democracy MP Konstantinos Bogdanos, was the burning issue of immigration, for which AKEL in this case, through its announcement, chooses not to be placed, while at the same time resorting to characterizations for the Democratic Alarm. The familiar easy solution.
At EMU we have neither learned to hide problems nor to hide behind them. We believe in open discussions and that through them society should draw its own conclusions on burning issues such as immigration. The essence of the issue is being judged and this is that Cyprus is a front-line country in terms of immigration and is already lifting more weight than its potential. Beyond that, if in AKEL another view other than the official one is almost infernal, this does not apply to either EMU or the Democratic Alarm.
