< p>The Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Nikodimos Damianou assured that the Government of Nikos Christodoulidis will not stop making every effort towards the resumption of talks, with the aim of the overall resolution of the < strong>of Cyprus on the basis of the relevant Resolutions of the United Nations (UN) and the principles and values of the European Union (EU).
Mr. Damianou made the assurance in his memorial speech at the annual memorial service of heroes Christos Konstantinidis, Petros Efstathiou, Giannakis Taliotis, Antonis Antoniou and Michalis Kyprianou, in Geroskipou, which was held on Sunday in Geroskipou.
The Deputy Minister of Research said that in its centuries-long history, Cyprus has known many conquerors and suffered all kinds of trials, however, in every important historical event there were people who stood out for their greatness of soul, ideals and values.
Continuing, he said that with immense respect and national pride, we commemorate Christos Konstantinidis, who fell fighting in 1920 in Asia Minor, Petros Efstathiou and Giannakis Taliotis, who were killed during the Turkish revolution of 1963-1964, and Antonis Antoniou and Michalis Kyprianou, who were sacrificed during the Turkish invasion in 1974 and made reference to the sacrifice of each of those mentioned.
“Five young children, who without hesitation and with incomparable bravery, they defended the homeland to the end, faithful to duty, and honoring to the absolute extent the values and ideals that nurtured Greeks everywhere through the centuries, he added.
