ETYK in collaboration with the Executive Committee of the Union of Trade Unions of European Central Banks (SCECBU) organized, on the three days of May 18-21, at the TETYK Hotel Complex in Protaras, the annual conference of SCECBU.

The conference was attended by 74 representatives of more than 30 trade unions operating in the Central Banks of all European countries. on the general situation in the labor sector in Cyprus and of course the National problem and the Turkish invasion.

Then the President of SCECBU Mr. Thierry Desanois spoke about the issues of the Conference, paying special attention to the problems caused by the pandemic and what we are facing and are expected to face due to the war in Ukraine.

The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) Mr. Konstantinos Herodotou, who in his speech referred to the economic situation of the eurozone and the Cypriot economy, as it is shaped after the pandemic and the effects of the war. in Ukraine, as well as the current state of the financial system in Cyprus and its reorganization after the economic crisis and in the light of the aforementioned subsequent developments.

Mr. Herodotus also referred briefly to the recent reorganization agreement of the CBC with ETYK, the filling of vacancies achieved during his tenure at various organizational levels of the Bank to make the organization more efficient as well as the forthcoming Challenges and opportunities based on new working methods.

Closing his speech, Mr. Herodotus stressed that it is his belief, which he puts into practice, that the healthy social dialogue between the Management of the Central Bank and of workers' union representatives is the cornerstone of cooperation and progress of both social partners.

The President of SCECBU & nbsp; Mr. Thierry Desanois thanked Mr. Herodotus for his presence and his greeting at the conference and stressed that he agrees with the approach to the need for a healthy social dialogue between managements and employees and stressed that SCECBU will always be there, as in the past. , on the side of ETYK, the colleagues of the Central Bank and the Management of the Bank itself if necessary.

Finally the President of SCECBU & nbsp; Mr. Thierry Desanois, the members of the Executive Committee and all the delegates thanked the ETYK for the perfect organization of the conference.
