An agreement was signed for the lease of state land for the creation of the “Salina” park in Larnaca.
A written announcement of the Municipality of Larnaca states that on Thursday, March 4, the lease agreement for the use of state land and specifically of the plot for the creation of the “SALINA” Park took place in the office of Mayor Andreas Vyras. The Agreement was signed between the General Director of the Ministry of Interior, the Mayor of Larnaca and the authorized Members of the Municipal Council “.
It is added that the whole effort falls within the framework of the creation and reconstruction of new green spaces in the city but also within the framework of the maturation of the new projects, the Municipality of Larnaca proceeds with the creation of the Municipal Park “Salina”. “The Municipal Park” Salina “will be created in the area of the former residence of the Prefect and Police Director for use by the citizens”.
The design of the project will include, among other things, “areas of active and passive entertainment, healthy development and rejuvenation of the urban environment, improvement and promotion of the space by enriching the existing planting, with appropriate landscaping and the inclusion of modern elements that are consistent with the space.” It will also include the creation of new jobs both during the construction of the park and during its operation, improvement of the environmental parameters with proper planning, attracting residents and visitors of all ages “.
The project will also include “extended access and use for the disabled, functional, aesthetic and quality improvement of the space and correlation of the space with the surrounding area and with the area of the Municipal Garden of Larnaca. The renovation of the space will be such that it will be a lung of green and a point of entertainment, sports, rest and socializing “.
It is noted that “the main aim is to give the area and generally in the city center, character and atmosphere that meets the expectations of its residents and visitors. “We are still striving to achieve sustainability in relation to improving the environment and the quality of life.”
