The meetings of the Minister of Finance, & nbsp; Konstantinos Petridis with the Minister of Finance of Germany, Mr. Christian & nbsp; Lindner, in Berlin, have ended.
It is noted that this is the first official visit of the Cypriot Minister of Finance to Germany, following an invitation from his counterpart. The meeting focused on the economic implications of the war in Ukraine, current developments in Europe and the challenges facing Europe. Challenges, such as inflationary pressures and the formulation of appropriate fiscal and energy policies, have been crucial. & Nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;
At the same time, during the visit of the Minister of Finance to Berlin, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Republic of Cyprus and the German state organization PD – Berater der öffentlichen Hand Gmbh, responsible, inter alia, for promoting reforms actions, project management, digitization of public and wider public sector processes. The purpose of the Memorandum is to establish cooperation for the establishment of a similar organization in Cyprus, making Cyprus one of the first European countries to participate in the establishment of a network of specialized services in the field of public sector reform and digitization.
Intention of the Minister of Finance is the submission of a proposal to the Council of Ministers for the creation of the Cypriot entity within April, sealing the commitment of the government.
