The Cyprus Stock Exchange recorded marginal gains on Thursday. The General Index showed an increase of 0.18%, closing at 165.17 points.

An increase of 0.19% was presented by the FTSE/CySE 20 Index, closing at 100.47 points. The daily turnover was €255,657.

Of the individual stock market indexes, the Main Market recorded gains, at a rate of 0.82% and the Investment Companies by 2.59%. The Alternative Market showed losses of 1.44%, while the Hotels index showed no change.

The securities of Dimitra Investment attracted the most interest with €88,616 (up 2.61% – closing price €1.18), Bank of Cyprus with €72,903 (no change – closing price €4.27), Hellenic Bank with €57,325 (up 0.38% – closing price €2.61), Logicom with €12,560 (no change – closing price €3.14) and Petrolina with €11,072 (no change – closing price €0.92) .

Of the shares traded, 4 moved up, 2 down and 9 remained unchanged.

The number of transactions was limited to 112.

In addition , Bank of Cyprus Holdings Public Limited Company announced today that on 19 June 2024 it acquired a total of 23,400 ordinary shares of €010 each, on the London Stock Exchange (18,400 shares) and on the Cyprus Stock Exchange (5,000 shares), from authorized stockbrokers of the Company, Numis Securities Limited (trading as Deutsche Numis) and the Cyprus Investments and Securities Organization Ltd ('CISCO').

It adds that the acquired shares will be cancelled.

< p>It states that the above share purchases are part of the bank's intention to repurchase own shares with the total amount amounting to €25 million, within the framework of the own share buyback program announced on April 19, 2024.
