Following the presentation of the new Grant Scheme for Existing Apartment Buildings in Government Settlements for the Housing of Displaced Persons, the Ministry of the Interior states in its announcement that, after evaluating the proposal of the involved bodies and the financial capabilities of the Ministry, it was decided as follows increase the amount of the subsidy that will be granted to beneficiaries of the Plan who will choose to be hosted by a relative for the period specified in the Plan per case and per Category of beneficiaries. The amount increases from €80 per person to €125 per person per month.
Recognizing the difficulty of finding a place for the temporary housing of the beneficiaries, the aim of the subsidy increase is to encourage the beneficiaries to take advantage of the option of hosting their relatives, ensuring at the same time that the subsidy covers their share of the expenses of the household that will host them.
